packing heat

What to take to Montreal for a week?

Oh, you thought I was a member of that gun-toting organization?  You obviously don’t know me if you thought that.

But I just have to figure out what to take for our trip without loading up the car overly too much.  Plus the packages for our kiddies, not so much from us but from others who are using us as their post office/messenger service.  I did manage to find a lot of wonderful books for the little ones, which add up in weight quickly enough.  And the weather is always iffy, so then there’s the boots and shoes issue along with howmanycoatsareyoubringing, really. Snow? Maybe. Rain?  Ugh, probably.  Should I dress only in black?  In navy?  Or maroon, to be different? Plus we’re going for a wedding, b’sha’ah tovah umutzlachat, so we have to take a bit fancier clothing (although not black tie this time, thankfully!).

And there’s also the fact that we’re staying at a hotel outside the eruv, so I can’t carry anything on Shabbat from the hotel, so I have to figure out what I can wear that’s functional and warm but not too much.

At least we’re not flying, so I don’t have to worry about how to limit everything to meet the demands and needs of the crazies.  And no pat-downs or scanners for me this time, thank you very much!

And there’s an indoor pool at the hotel, so I can bring my bathing suit, which obviously weighs a lot. :)

Isn’t this a wonderful thing to worry about?
